CONGREGATIONAL MINISTRY REVIEW
WHY: To aid the council in prioritizing goals and understanding our unique
context with its challenges and advantages, the council has asked the synod
to do a ministry review. This review is a long range and short range planning option the synod
offers to congregations as an option to aid in their planning and goal setting. MSLC’s council has
asked the synod to do this.
WHEN: Sunday, March 18, 2018 after worship (10:30 am)
WHO: EVERYONE – everyone’s opinions matter and you will be given time after worship on this
day to share your thoughts and concerns with the synod team. Those that are present will hear
about the process and have time to discuss their concerns and dreams for Maple Sheyenne Lutheran
Church.
WHERE: MAPLE HALL during Fellowship
OUTCOME: By the end of the day, after meeting with the council, some community leaders,
the pastor and the congregational ministry team separately, the synodical team will have a summary
of observations and some recommendations about how our ministry is functioning. There
will also be a formal document provided in two weeks giving us a more comprehensive assessment.
This process will be one tool the council uses to enrich our ministry together. The council will
use this to build goals and strategies in their council retreat that will be implemented in their
leadership and our life together. Have some questions? Don’t hesitate to ask one of the ministry
review team members: Pastor Nichole Johnson, Chuck Bowman, Genevieve Wodrich, Tom
Linnertz, Dave Gust, Mackenzie Odden, and Kim Sandvig. Thank you in advance for participating!
